BFHE In The News

Congratulations to Ridgway and Peyton in 4th grade for winning the 2021 Sticker Design Contest in STEM! Third through fifth grade students have been learning about digital design in class and were invited to enter the contest. The winning design was chosen after votes were cast by 450 students and staff members. There were many fantastic designs, and the Top-5 are shown below. The design chosen by voters was design # 4. As you can see, our students continue to show how talented they are, and I am proud of all the contestants for participating in the challenge. Every student and staff member will be taking home a waterproof, vinyl sticker with the winning design. ~ Mr. Wu

"A Unified Champion School receiving national banner recognition is one that has demonstrated commitment to inclusion by achieving the ten standards described here. These standards are based upon the three over-arching components that include Special Olympics Unified Sports®/Young Athletes, Inclusive Youth Leadership and Whole-School Engagement. National banner schools should also be able to demonstrate they are self-sustainable or have a plan in place to sustain these activities into the future."
