PTCO Mission Statement: Through programs and events designed to bring our community together the goal of the BFHE PTCO is to garner resources to support student learning and achievement in technology, arts, and science. Our mission is to create a continuous cycle of good will for our children who will benefit today and in the future.

BFHE PTCO Guiding Principles:

- To provide leadership in academic resources through technology;

- To support the arts and healthy lifestyle programs;

- To create well rounded students through the exposure of external programs;

- To encourage parent partnerships and community involvement.

Board Job Descriptions

All board members are expected to attend monthly PTCO meetings and attend all PTCO events, as available.

  • Co-President is a two-year commitment and consists of one new/incoming member and one returning member. Co-Presidents preside at all PTCO meetings and are members of all committees. This position is responsible for oversight of major fundraisers and works closely with committee chairs, specifically fall Fun Run and spring auction. Co-Presidents work with the treasurer and principal to create an annual budget, and they are required to attend annual training provided by CCSD Parents Council.

  • VP Communications is a two-year commitment responsible for weekly distribution of Hooties Highlights (e-newsletter). This position also creates the printed calendars and maintains PTCO’s Facebook page, Instagram page, and website.

  • VP Events is a two-year commitment and will oversee the chair(s) of the following events: Book Fairs, Storybook Ball and Spring Family Event. This position will assist chair(s) as needed with publicity, volunteers, budget and money-handling, forms and procedures.

  • VP Hospitality is a two-year commitment and will oversee the chair(s) of the following committees/events: Community Nights, Dads & Doughnuts, Muffins with Moms, and Teacher Appreciation. This position will assist chair(s) as needed with publicity, volunteers, budget and money-handling, forms and procedures.

  • VP Ways & Means is a two-year commitment and will oversee the chair(s) of the following programs: School Directory, BoxTops, Labels for Education, Earning4Learning, and Longmont Milk Caps. This position will assist chair(s) as needed with publicity, volunteers, budget and money-handling, forms and procedures.

  • VP School Support is a two-year commitment and will oversee the chair(s) of the following programs: Spirit Wear, Legacy Bricks, School Supplies, and Graduation Signs. This position will assist chair(s) as needed with publicity, volunteers, budget and money-handling, forms, and procedures.

  • Bookkeeping Treasurer is a two-year commitment responsible for tracking income/expenses, monthly budget reports, tax preparation, and counting at events. The Bookkeeping Treasurer will work with CoPresidents to create the annual budget for 2016-17. Treasurers are required to attend one training provided by CCSD Parents Council. Additional training is offered for tax preparation.

  • Disbursement Treasurer is a two-year commitment responsible for writing checks (requests and reimbursements), distribution of petty cash, and assisting the Deposit Treasurer and Bookkeeping Treasurer with counting at events. Treasurers are required to attend one training provided by the CCSD Parents Council.

  • Deposit Treasurer is a two-year commitment responsible for depositing all checks, tracking donations and counting at events. Treasurers are required to attend one training provided by CCSD Parents Council.

  • Secretary is a two-year commitment responsible for recording the minutes of each PTCO meeting. The secretary also maintains printed copies of the minutes and distributes minutes electronically after each meeting.


Event and Program Volunteers - We will need many volunteers for our fundraising events. Please see "Events Calendar" tab for the list of the events planned for 2021-2022 school year. If you are interested in volunteering at the events please send us an email.

Past PTCO Allocations and Highlights

Each year, the money we raise is used for technology, classrooms, school programming, integrated arts, SPED, and other school-related items. Your contributions are vital to our students' success and are greatly appreciated!

2020-2021: the PTCO was able to raise $112,900! With these funds, the school was able to make the following purchases:


~Phase 2 updates to the playground

~Tables near 1st grade doors to be used by teachers/staff and outdoor lessons. Please see below for a picture of the benches installed.

~New/Updated materials/equipment for Specials

~Professional development for Teachers

~Many other various school expenditures (school programming supplies, books and bookshelves, etc).

The PTCO voted to allocate funds raised from the past few years to update the BFHE playground and blacktop. We asked the school community for your feedback about what improvements can be made. We are in the process of completing another phase and are excited for our families to see it. Please see below for pictures of the playground renovation in progress and completion.
