Please review the following important information regarding rock reservations:
Reservations & Scheduling
- First-Come, First-Served: Reservations are processed on a first-come, first-served basis. Booking early increases your chances of securing your desired date(s).
- Time Slots: Your reservation runs from 4:00 PM the day before your reserved date until 3:59 PM on the day of your reservation. For example, if you reserve a rock for a Tuesday, you may begin painting at 4:00 PM on Monday afternoon. $25/day
- Design Duration: Please note that your design may remain on the rock for multiple days if there are no subsequent reservations booked immediately after yours.
Guidelines & Policies
- Supplies: Families must furnish their own labor, paint, and supplies.
- No Modifications or Refunds: All available reservation dates are listed, and date slots will not be modified. Please note that the PTCO does not issue refunds for reservations.
- Missed Dates: If you are unable to paint the rock on your scheduled date due to a conflict or forgetfulness, please try to trade slots with another family at the school.
- Content Rules: What is painted on the Rock MUST be in good taste and MAY NOT contain any foul language, discriminatory, religious, and/or political statements/symbols. Profanities and obscenities are not permitted. All messages should be affirming! Designs should have a caring and nurturing message. All wording and symbols must be positive. The rock runs on the honor system, with the hope that everyone will respect these guidelines.
- Supplies & Restrictions: Families must furnish their own labor, paint, and supplies. Please use only “standard” latex or water-based acrylic paint on the rock…no puffy paint, no glue, no chemicals, no oil-based paint, no stickers etc. NO SPRAY PAINT IS ALLOWED ON CAMPUS PER ADMINISTRATION.
- Property Rules: ONLY the rock can be painted. Painting on sidewalks, lamp posts or buildings is prohibited. Any damage or destruction to the surrounding areas or buildings will deem the family financially responsible for cleaning and repair costs.
- Liability: The family painting the rock assumes liability for any individual of the group who may be injured and/or incur clothing or other personal property damage.

*Inclement Weather*
In the event of inclement weather, please email [email protected] to request the next available open reservation. Please keep in mind that the PTCO will only reschedule your date if we are explicitly notified via email.
Recommended Supplies:
- Background Paint: One to two quarts of standard exterior latex paint. Ensure it provides good coverage as you will be painting over the previous day’s message.
- Rollers/Brushes: A "rough" roller or large brush to cover the background (note that it may need multiple coats and time to dry before applying your design).- Design Paint: Secondary paint color(s) for the lettering and symbols. Acrylics or latex paints (any water-based paint) work well. For the best visibility, choose contrasting colors (e.g., light background with dark letters or a dark background with light letters).
- Detail Brushes: Small brushes (1″ or smaller) or foam sponge brushes for lettering and designs.
- Chalk: To sketch out your letters and words before painting.
- Drop Cloths: Plastic or canvas drop cloths to protect the sidewalk and curb while you are painting.
Important Clean-Up & Site Information:
- Water Access: There is no water access on site to rinse off brushes or rollers. It is highly suggested that you bring a small bucket and a gallon container of water from home.
- Trash Disposal: Bring a large trash bag to take all of your items and supplies home once the painting is complete. All painting supplies must be properly discarded off campus at home, and not on school grounds. Used paint cans must not be placed in campus trash bins or dumpsters; please dispose of them properly off campus.
